Cover Love: Book Covers featuring Babies

Babies make for interesting elements on book covers because, when it comes to urban fantasy, dystopian, post-apocalyptic, and other similar genres, they look so out of place. They’re just so helpless and innocent, and it makes me suddenly very concerned for their safety because they shouldn’t be around zombies and aliens and demons and other terrible creatures and people who aren’t going to think twice about hurting them!

To be honest, some of these are more small children than babies, and in one of them the baby is so swaddled you can’t actually see it, but I’ve had this post sitting in my drafts for years, and I just want to post it, so *shrug*

Normally I don’t link each cover to their Amazon pages anymore, but these do have (affiliate) links because of the aforementioned “started this post years ago” thing.

Anyway, enjoy all these cute little babies and their chaotic worlds!

It’s actually hard to pick a favorite, these are all nice. The first two have amazing artwork with really wild sci-fi/fantasy things going on. But a lot of these have great art, in a variety of styles. I especially love the colors on Mother Russia and Heritage Lost (even if that one isn’t quite a baby). I think those four are my favorites. But the cutest baby award goes to Alien Vs. Alien!

Kudos for finding so many covers with babies – some of them were hard to spot, even when I knew they were there. Alien vs Alien definitely has the cutest baby, but I couldn’t decide which I liked best between The Vagrant and Kalimpura. They both stood out to me.

I’m impressed at the number of covers you have found with babies on which aren’t just romance novels with some secret baby trope. I actually think I’d read some of these based off of the cover alone as they look brilliant!
