Cover Characteristics: Book Covers featuring Chess Pieces

I've never played chess in my life, but I think I'm well on my way to learning thanks to this week's topic!

Yeah right, I don't even like checkers. And don't get me started on Chinese checkers.

Anyway, back to the topic of the post. I kind of, might've, possibly ended up choosing ten covers again.

If you're reading my blog you're gonna find out sooner or later that I'm horribly indecisive, and that I'm mildly obsessed with book covers in general, so I just couldn't decide on five. So, once again, here are five random covers and five from the same series.

Cover Characteristics is a weekly meme hosted at Sugar & Snark. This week’s topic is:

Books Covers featuring Chess Pieces

Queen Takes King's Pawn by Michael Leath | books, reading, book covers
Gambit by Andrew Ashling | books, reading, book covers
Callsign: Bishop by Jeremy Robinson | books, reading, book covers
The Chess Queen Enigma by Colleen Gleason | books, reading, book covers
King Pawn by Raj Nellooli | books, reading, book covers

Oddly enough, I don’t think any of those books actually have to do with chess…

The Pawn by Steven James | books, reading, book covers
The Rook by Steven James | books, reading, book covers
The Knight by Steven James | books, reading, book covers
The Bishop by Steven James | books, reading, book covers
The Queen by Steven James | books, reading, book covers

Talk to me!

Which book cover with chess pieces is YOUR favorite?

You just made my day! That indecision thing I mentioned in the post? I wasn’t kidding lol. I changed my design like three times in the past month, so I’m really glad someone likes what I finally settled on. As for chess, it’s just never seemed like my kinda game, but it still makes for pretty cover designs 😛

That chess piece is so pretty, right?! And it sounds like it could be an interesting book, too.

The maroon and gold definitely go great together on that cover. Glad I found this meme, it’s so much to participate!
