Cover Characteristics: Book Covers featuring Jewels

The first Cover Characteristics post of 2016! And who'd have thought it'd be such a hard one? Book covers with jewels turned out to be so much harder to find than I thought they would be.

But, as usual, hunting down the covers is part of the fun, especially since I always end up finding more books to add to my TBR and more free ebooks to download.

I'm not a jewelry person myself, but I did manage to find some covers I really love and books I look forward to reading!

Cover Characteristics is a weekly meme hosted at Sugar & Snark. This week’s topic is:

Book Covers featuring Jewels

Elixir Series by Melanie Delon

In Silence (Italian Edition) by Melanie Delon | books, reading, book covers, cover love, jewels

I used the Italian Edition for Book 1 because it’s prettier, but these are really some beautiful covers.

The Diamond Thief Series by Sharon Gosling

I’m not sure the last cover has a jewel on it, but who cares, they’re so pretty! And they look intriguing.

The Faerie Ring by Kiki Hamilton

The font and design makes this look so magical.

King Ruin by Michael John Grist

The jewel is not as big and obvious in this cover as the others (it’s on her scarab necklace), but come on, IT’S SUCH A GREAT COVER. I probably would’ve chosen it as my favorite had it fit the theme a tad bit better. The whole series has amazing covers.

The Glittering Court by Richelle Mead

It’s pretty with an interesting gray and yellow color scheme.

I love the way the focus spreads out from the middle and looks all geometric.

Emerald Bound by Teresa Richards

Now THAT is an emerald. And I love the focus on the gem and her hands.

Under My Skin by Shawntelle Madison

I love red. Case closed.

The photo is so interesting and full of contrast and gorgeous.

My Favorite:
All That Glitters Series by K.A. Linde

Diamonds by K.A. Linde | books, reading, book covers, cover love, jewels
Gold by K.A. Linde | books, reading, book covers, cover love, jewels
Emeralds by K.A. Linde | books, reading, book covers, cover love, jewels

They’re just so pretty and sparkly! The black background gives great contrast, and the minimalism works perfectly.

I ADORE the cover of The Jewel (hehehh, title is spot on there, isn’t it? ;D) because like it’s a dress but it looks like a flower AND it’s all shiny and jewel-ish. <3 I'm a sucker for pretty and shiny and glittery covers, so these are all just gorgeous!!

Thanks for stopping by @ Paper Fury!

I seriously couldn’t figure out how to explain the Jewel cover and why I liked it, so I ended up with “geometric” lol. It does look like a shiny flower though! Shiny, glittery covers are so eye-catching 🙂

I’m kinda kicking myself that I didn’t pick some of these. 🙂 I like your pics better than mine. I thought emerald Bound was my fave at first, but after looking closer I like The Ruby Airship the best. I’ve seen that cover before and really like it. The Faerie Ring is good (I picked that one too) and it looks like snow is falling, which I like. I actually started this book once but never finished it- not that it wasn’t good, I just drifted away.

The Glittering Court has a nice cover, and I kinda like emeralds too (it helps I like green). The Ruby Airship is my fave though and I’ll probably add this series because I want to read that one!

Ah, I can definitely see the appeal of Emeralds and Emerald Bound if you like green. I really want to read the series with The Ruby Airship too! I ended up adding it to my TBR (though my TBR is a mess, so who really knows what I’ll ever end up reading). I also like a few covers from the series with The Faerie Ring, so it’s kind of piqued my interest and I might read it one day. Glad you like my choices 🙂

I haven’t thought about how a ton of book covers have jewels on them, but now that you mention it I’m shocked I hadn’t seen this before! Great post and, as always, fabulous post! ♥

It’s crazy what you can find on book covers once you start looking! Sometimes it’s surprising to realize how many book covers have one specific thing on them. Thanks 🙂

I love how many covers with jewels you found. I love this feature and looking at all the pretty covers you find. The Glittering Court is alreayd on my to-read list, becasue Richelle Mead. Now I only have to remember to actually pre-order it soon.
Those Elixir covers are pretty too, I especially like the one for the second book. The Diamond Thief series looks intriguing. I can see why you choose the All That Glitter series as your favourite, I like those minimalist cover designs,

I still haven’t even read Vampire Academy, so I’m a little late to the Richelle Mead party lol. I don’t even remember how I came across the Elixir covers, but they definitely are pretty! But I just couldn’t help myself with those sparkly All That Glitters covers.

Something about “just hanging out on my shelves” is cracking me up lol. I think I might’ve put on one of my TBRs or Amazon lists or something since the covers for the series are pretty and, you know, because faeries. I don’t know that I’m actually going to read The Glittering Court, but I know lots of people are excited about it 🙂
