Cover Love: Book Covers featuring Pomegranates

I have had this post in my drafts for SO LONG because it is very hard to find book covers with pomegranates on them. And of course I wanted them to be sci-fi/fantasy, since that’s what my blog is about. And I had to try and make sure it wasn’t actually figs I was seeing (easy to tell apart in real life, not always so easy in little illustrations). And I wanted them to actually be pretty. (I absolutely refused to use the Midnight Sun cover. They managed to take the ugliest photo of a pomegranate I’ve ever seen. I’ve taken better photos of pomegranates on my 2009 flip phone while eating said pomegranates.)

Anyway, here you go, some beautiful pomegranates!

Book covers (except the last one) link to Amazon US (with affiliate links, so I’ll make a bit of money if you buy anything through them)!

Green by Jay Lake

Beautiful art and an intriguing cover.

Whichwood by Tahereh Mafi

Also beautiful, and I especially love the colors.

A House of Pomegranates by Oscar Wilde

Admittedly not the most exciting, looks to be some photos of pomegranates on a swirly background, but it’s still pretty and eye-catching.

Bright We Burn by Kiersten White

Not just beautiful but also so interesting with the burning dagger(?) and seeds flying everywhere. I didn’t know pomegranates could look so intense!

The Thick and the Lean by Chana Porter

This one is so unique and cool!

The Pomegranate Gate by Ariel Kaplan

The cover I used is the UK cover because this one shows off the pomegranates better. And it’s very pretty in a different sort of way than the other covers. Looks like something you’d see as art on a wall in a fancy historical building. Does that make sense to anyone else?

Thief of Spring by Katharine MacDonald

Another pretty one, and I do love a red and black color combo.

Ripe by Sarah Rose Etter

I truly think pomegranate seeds are beautiful. Red is my favorite color, and just, you know, look at them! So I love this gorgeous close-up.

Lilith by Nikky Marmery

This one is more of a blocky, graphic-y illustration than the other covers. I like it! It’s eye-catching.

Follow Me Down by Joie Martin

This one is actually a ttrpg book, not a novel, but why not include it? Look at that gorgeous artwork!

Wait! Did you say book covers featuring pomegranates? That I had to see.
I am amazed you found so many, and that they are all really beautiful. My fav might be Whichwood.
Can’t wait to see what random object you might feature next. How about book covers with tooth picks, or potatoes?

I really like the cover for Thief of Spring! I might just add it to my TBR for that alone, lol. I saw another cover recently – Helfyre – but now I don’t know if it’s a pomegranate or a fig. ????
