Cover Characteristics: Book Covers featuring Faces

Cover Characteristics: Book Covers featuring Faces

I know a lot of people don't like book covers with faces, but sometimes they're done really well and are really beautiful or striking. I especially love illustrated ones because it gives me the chance to see the character exactly as they're meant to look and to connect with them before I even start the story, plus I'm a sucker for pretty artwork. Even photos can be great if it's not a photo I've...

Update: Life and Books (Feb 2019)

Let's see, real life updates... Nobody ask me about my dental situation. It's still not any better, and I don't want to talk about it. I also managed to bend back like a third of my big toe nail when I hit it with my other heel, so that was fun. I don't know how I even do these things. But my parents' shower still has a chunk of tile missing from where I once slipped and hit my heel against it...

I admit it's been a while since I've read some...

Bookish Musings: Top 5 Strangest Book Reviews I’ve Written

I like to think of this post as proof that a) you really don't need to write "professional" reviews to have a book blog, and b) positive reviews can in fact be fun! I also like finding ways to continue talking about great books that I totally recommend and think people should read, since oftentimes books just get forgotten after the review is posted, and this seemed like a good way to do...

Bookish Tag Post: The “Longest Book” Tag

Bookish Tag Post: The “Longest Book” Tag

Don't worry, this isn't a book tag that's really long, it's just a tag about long books ;-) In fact, it's actually a really quick and simple tag! Here's what you do: 1) Make a list of the 5 longest books you've ever read 2) Select 2 of the longest books on your TBR 3) Discuss 4) Tag others Ta da! That's it. I was tagged by Wren @ For the Love of Books, the original is from Bewitchingly...
