Updates & Info: The Weekly Update (14)

Happy early Christmas to everyone who celebrates!

The holiday really kind of snuck up on me this year. In fact, the whole month of December is going way too fast. January needs to slow down a bit.

I have been enjoying reading some Christmas-related books though. I don't think I've ever done that before, which is odd considering how much I love all other things Christmas (movies, songs, etc.)

But I'm sure we've all got last minute holiday preparation to do, so I'll keep this short!

Blog News:

This week on the blog won’t be too busy (I imagine most people’s won’t be). And the week after that I haven’t decided whether I’ll be posting or not (but I’ll definitely have lots to post the first week of January). The next two weeks might be filled with some blog redesigning though. So don’t be alarmed if you drop by and something looks weird or broken as it just means I’m in the middle of something. (I break my site a lot as I’m very trial & error with my methods.) I’ve tried doing it on a practice website so that I can simply install the new theme when it’s ready, but that just doesn’t work for me. I need to see how it all looks with the actual content, and I’m more of a tweak-things-as-I-go person.

Books I Finished:

Christmas Healing by Morris Fenris & Jasmine Bowen | books, reading, book covers
The Three Sisters by Sonia Halbach | books, reading, book covers

Christmas Healing was a short, sweet, and hopeful, involving Christmas and vampires, though I have to admit my favorite scene was when the vampire went on a killing rampage. (Can you tell sweet and hopeful isn’t really my thing? It actually wasn’t bad for the type of book it was.) I ended up really liking The Three Sisters though and threw my review together ASAP so I could post it before Christmas.

Song of the Week:

“Mary Did You Know” by Clay Aiken – This is another one of my favorite Christmas song, this cover specifically, because it’s so beautiful.

In Case You Missed It:

Cover Characteristics: Book Covers featuring Snakes
Top Ten Tuesday: Top Ten Book I Read in 2015
Book Review: Winterspell by Claire Legrand
Book Review: The Three Sisters (The Krampus Chronicles Book 1) by Sonia Halbach

Did you find any good books or music this week? Have you finished with all your Christmas prep yet?

Good luck with the re design. Hope the new year will have a new-look blog. Merry Christmas to you too. So excited now that Christmas is just five days away. Waiting to go home and be with family.

Thanks! How it’ll end up looking will be as much a surprise to me as everyone else lol since I still don’t even know what I’ll be doing. Have a great Christmas with your family 🙂

“Killing rampage” LOL. That’s funny… 🙂 You’d never know from looking at the cover! Looks all peaceful and serene.

Christmas has pretty much snuck up on me, I’ve hardly heard any Christmas songs and it’s just all too fast. Still I like this time of year- guess I have this week to get in the Christmas spirit. 🙂

It was literally just that ONE scene. The rest was pretty much exactly how the cover looks, cute and lovey, with the vampire being scared of cars and confused by technology since he had been in a coma thing for a thousand years.

You’ve only got five days left to get into the Christmas spirit! You’d better start inhaling gingerbread cookies and drowning in Christmas music immediately lol.

AGH I AGREE….December came way to fast and now is nearly GONE way too fast. If this is growing up…gah, I don’t want it. XD I need time to slow doooown. hehe. I probably won’t be blogging much over the next 2 weeks either! I’m kind of looking forward to a bit of a break. January will be fun and busy and I shall prepare. 😉

Good luck with your new design! I can’t wait to see it!

Thanks for stopping by @ Paper Fury!

I’m already super indecisive and I’m probably going to get distracted in the next few weeks, and my redesign will end up being like, “Look, guys, I changed the color of my social media links! Isn’t it amazing?!” Lol.

Seriously though, I could really use the ability to stop time. Or to speed myself up or something. But I’m looking forward to blogging in the new year too 🙂

I agree it feels like this month went way to fast, christmas seemed so far away and now it’s here already. I also read some christmas themed books for the first tiem this year and enjoyed them so far. Next week is a pretty normal week for me on the blog. I figured I would just have some posts up in case someone is around visiting, but I don’t expect as much comments as normal. And the week after that I have some end of the year posts planned.

I know ltos of peoepl try and tweak things on a test site, but I always do it on my own site as well, so I can see immediately how it works and looks with my content. Good luck with the redesigning! Although I like your current design I also am curious what your new design will look like! I hope you wont break your site too often, I always freak out when I break my site, although that only happened once and I am terrified of caching plugins now, lol. Have a great week!

I’ll still be around even though I won’t be posting much, so I’ll come check out your posts 🙂

I’m glad it’s not just me who can’t do the test site thing! I don’t plan to change it a whole lot, I still plan to use the same colors and fonts, but it looks kind of plain, and there are a few things I want to change. I’m not worried about breaking my site though, I edit right in the FTP files and test the new things a million times as I go, so, if something breaks, it’s easy to fix. The most aggravating are the stupid typos that you don’t notice. One missing semi-colon, and suddenly the entire site is a mess!

You have a great week too!

OMG Christmas snuck up WAY too fast. It was all oh yeah, that’s in a couple of months and then suddenly it was next week. I do have almost all of my presents together, so that’s okay. I’m always more in a Christmassy mood a couple of weeks before than right before Christmas, weirdly. Good luck with your re-design! I’m also a tweak as I go person, so I get ‘cha. I planned on reading a Christmassy book over the holidays too, but now I only have like four days left, so we’ll see! 😀 Happy Holidays to you!

Maybe you’re just so Christmassy all month that you burn out by actual Christmas lol. You always just read something winter-y once Christmas is over. I’ll be doing that too since I still have some winter-themed books I want to read.

I’m glad there are some other bloggers out there who get me and my tweak-as-I-go ways! And thanks, have a great Christmas 🙂
