BECAUSE THAT IS WHAT HAPPENED.
Toshiba sent me back my "repaired" laptop, BUT IT'S STILL BROKEN. It's still doing the EXACT same thing I sent it in for. I am so exhausted and stressed from all this that I literally put a whole tray of broccoli in the oven the other night and waited half an hour only to realize the oven was off. That's how fried my brain is.
I am never ever ever ever ever EVER buying a Toshiba product again. Even if it's just a decorative mouse pad. Which I'm pretty sure they don't make. And does anyone even use mouse pads anymore? (Did anyone ever?) But that doesn't matter because none of that is the point! The point is I'm never buying Toshiba again!
*sigh*
Anyway, while I once again attempt to get Toshiba to actually REPAIR that one, I've decided to use my old, broken laptop. And by broken, I mean it works, but it's a little slow, I had to buy a wireless keyboard because the track pad doesn't work, and it makes this terrible, annoying noise coming from somewhere in the hardware that I don't know how to fix. But it's better than nothing, I suppose. Except, oddly enough, it actually runs The Sims 3 better, so now I keep wanting to play rather than be productive.
Anyway, that's the only news I have -_-

Pretty much just the usual. I did take a graphic novel for review, so that’s something a bit out of the norm (though it was a pain and a half trying to figure out how to open it on this Windows 7 computer).
Also, this week on Daniela Ark’s awesome blog there will be an interview of yours truly π
Oh! Almost forgot. Question about Edelweiss for anyone who uses it—once you request a book, does the request button go away? Because I requested a book but then everything got glitchy and it hasn’t showed up under my requests tab, so I don’t know if it went through :-/

Untaken was not exactly what I was in the mood for (#MoodReaderProblems), but it was still a touching, character-driven book. Artificial was pretty awesome and also kind of not what I expected? But in a good way. I’m getting really bad about this expectations thing lately, though luckily it’s been working in my favor. But aren’t both covers amazing?! Blood Stain ended up being only 90 pages of story with 40 pages of extras -_- but it was quirky and entertaining with nice artwork.
Song of the Week:
“All I Want” by Kodaline – I kind of just chose a song at random this week since I haven’t listened to much music lately, but I like this one, and it’s on my playlist for the book I’m… not really working on at the moment lol but will be again at some point.

Ugh, I doubt they’re going to be apologetic. They’re probably going to try and charge me for shipping again or tell me I have to pay because my warranty has now probably ended, but I am so ready to argue with any BS they give me.
I’ve read a few actually, but I made it a goal this year to try at least five different graphic novel series, so this makes #3 π
Sorry about all your computer troubles! That totally sucks!! Hopefully Toshiba will get it together and actually fix your stuff!!

It’s definitely better having a slow laptop than no laptop. And sometimes it’s actually not that slow, at least to use the internet. It’s mostly the stupid noise that bothers me. Though I haven’t tried Photoshop yet…

But I am so not sorry even though this also means that you’re going to blame if you hate all these books once you read them π But oh goodness, I’ve been so bad about updating the free book section so Paracosm has been there for like a week, it’s probably not even free anymore. Don’t worry about The Labyrinthians, it’ll probably be off of Netgalley by the time I get around to reading it lol since I don’t have it scheduled until about a month from now.
Well, that blows about your computer. That happened to my old computer, took it in to Geek Squad and they had it for like 2 weeks to tell me they did absolutely nothing to it -_- Thank goodness I have a sister that knows how to build a computer, because I got one beast of a computer now lol. I did finally pull my ancient laptop out, though! It’s SO SLOW. Well, except the internet. But if I want to save a photo, forgetaboutit. It takes 10 years. xD And now I’m rambling. Have a great week!

You really have the worst luck! How can they send it back fixed and it still doesn’t work, don’t hey test this or something? That’s so frustrating! I can imagine why that makes you stressed, especially as you already were so long without it and now it still isn’t fixed.
I still use a mouse pad, it’s cute with a pink milk carton and strawberries on it. I can’t work without one. I guess I am the odd one out?

Lol I don’t know, maybe I’m the odd one out. I’ve just never liked using mouse pads because they limited my movement too much, and now I haven’t used a mouse in years since I’ve just used track pads.

No mouse pads. Just sayin. π I can’t believe they sent it back not fixed, but actually- yes I can. I have a Toshiba TV actually and it’s not very good, the sound quality is pretty bad and movies sound better on my computer than they do on the TV! So I’m not a big Toshiba fan anyway. I have a similar situation to Molly in that a friend of mine built mine- he does it for fun which was nice cause I was needing an upgrade anyway. So I got lucky that way.
The Labyrinthians looks good, I’ll have to check that out. Artificial looks dystopian maybe with robot guy in the background?

In my review for Artificial (which will be posted on Friday) I actually mention how I haven’t read anything THAT sci-fi in a while because it’s got androids, dystopia, genetic engineering, and it’s set on another planet lol. It sounds like a lot to take in, but it actually works really well.
Oh Sims 3! I love that game but I’m pretty sure there’s some kind of time warp in there because I’ll sit down to play it just for a few minutes and then Wham! It’s 3 hours later. I haven’t even loaded it on my new computer because I cannot be responsible with it but it’s so fun! I’m so sorry about your laptop. How frustrating! Hope this week is better!
Seriously, I’ve literally forgotten to eat while playing the Sims before lol. It sucks you in, and suddenly you’re playing for 8 hours and it’s 5 in the morning. There is no such thing as playing for a few minutes. It’s either all day or nothing lol. But yeah, I wasn’t really tempted to play on the other one because it ran horribly, and I wasn’t planning on installing it once it was repaired, but now that I’m using this computer it’s so tempting!

Argh, I think I would have taken said laptop and jumped up and down on it. The Sims 3 though, that is a plus, when I used to play it my PC would go so slowly.

I’d rather jump up and down on top of whoever “repaired” my computer and sent it back to me still broken -_- I’m not sure if the Sims thing is good or bad though lol, since it’s so distracting! I keep forcing myself to do more productive things, but dammit it’s like this constant itch that I want to scratch!
I still haven’t decided whether or not to risk sending two requests through Edelweiss since I do really want that book :-/ But this is one of the many reasons I also prefer Netgalley.
