Updates & Info: The Weekly Update (12)

It's officially December!

It's also a high of 81 degrees F where I live today. But you won't hear me complaining! That just means I still get to go out in my flip-flops and tanktops. (Except when I go to the bookstore. Why must they keep it so freezing cold? It's not like books are going to go bad!)

I don't have anything holiday-ish planned for the blog, but I am doing couple posts about my favorite characters, book covers, etc. to commemorate the amazing book year I've had. I do have plans for the blog in 2016, but I already seem to falling behind on getting those done.

Anyway, this is going to be a short post since I don't really have any news.

Books I Finished:

Saga Vol. 2 by Brian K. Vaughan & Fiona Staples | books, reading, book covers
Saga Vol. 3 by Brian K. Vaughan & Fiona Staples | books, reading, book covers
Saga Vol. 4 by Brian K. Vaughan & Fiona Staples | books, reading, book covers
House of Pawns by Keary Taylor | books, reading, book covers
Trailer Park Fae by Lilith Saintcrow | books, reading, book covers

As you can see, I fell down the Saga rabbit hole this week. I walked into the bookstore and then emerged hours later in a confused haze, trying to remember what real life was again. And I LOVED House of Pawns. I also really liked (maybe loved?) Trailer Park Fae.

Song of the Week:

“Carol of the Bells” Original(?) & Pentatonix Cover – I’m feelin’ the Christmas spirit, so I thought I’d share my favorite Christmas song.

In Case You Missed It:

Cover Characteristics: Book Covers featuring Beds
Top Ten Tuesday: Top Ten Female Characters from Books I’ve Read This Year
Book Review: House of Royals (House of Royals Book 1) by Keary Taylor
Book Review: Drown by Esther Dalseno

Talk to me!

Did you find any good books or songs this week? How's the weather right now where you live? And what's your favorite Christmas song?

It’s been colder here, but not too cold yet. It is pretty dark and grey outside though, although we had a few days with a bit of sun as well. I always plan a few special end of the year posts on the blog as it’s fun to look back on the previous year. Every year I think of a new one to add to my standard list. I am looking forward to your favourite book covers post ;). On the subject of covers, that cover for Trailer Park Fea looks great! I hope you’ll have a great week!

At least you have a little bit of sun! I kind of like gloomy days though. I think I’m in the minority.

Haha, Trailer Park Fae is totally my number one pick for the book cover post. It’s always fun looking back on the year though, in a bookish way and in a general way.

81 degrees?! I sob. I think it was 37 here today. For the high 🙁 Stupid winter! I need to start the Saga series, I hear such good things, and my Secret Sister got me a copy of the first one, so I need to get my act together and read it!

Would it be bad to say that I don’t really like any Christmas songs? Except for maybe Mariah Carey’s All I Want for Christmas is You, but that’s almost for nostalgic reasons at this point 😉 Hope you have a fabulous week!

Aww 37 degrees would be just awful to me! I feel for you. You do need to start reading Saga! It’s the first graphic novel I’ve ever read, and I was surprised by how great the characters and everything really was.

Nah, it’s not bad that you don’t like Christmas songs, but we probably wouldn’t get along very well during the month of December 😛 You have a great week too!

OMG Saga, I started my descent in to it last weekend when I bought a copy of volume one. I had only read one graphic novel before which was Nimona and loved it, Amazon kept telling me that since I enjoyed it I should read Saga so I obeyed!

I love the characters and it looks beautiful too!! Hoping Santa brings me volume 2!!

    Have a good week!

I had never read any graphic novels before! The awesome characters and the beautiful art basically summarizes my upcoming review, haha. I love your reasoning for finally reading it though. Amazon is like the internet god. Gotta obey or it might smite your blog 😛 You have a good week too!
