Update: Life and Books (July 2025)

Ok, let’s see. What happened in July that’s actually worth talking about?

I missed my blogiversary! My ten year blogiversary! So I will do a post for that this month, maybe next weekend.

I watched Strange World, the Disney/Pixar/whatever movie. I liked it! I loved the visuals of the whole, well, strange world. And it was a cute story.

Still playing BG3, though honestly, even that has felt like too much for my body/brain most days lately. I’m also still playing Cats and Soup. It’s such a cute little app game.

I think that’s it? Sorry, this is not my most exciting post.

Blog/Bookish Updates:

Nothing this month.

Books I Received for Review:

I don’t think I actually accepted anything, sometimes you just can’t handle any extra stress, you know? I did mention some I was offered in my post about upcoming books though because they sound great, and I am looking forward to them, perhaps in audiobook. Also shoutout to That Lesbian Vampire Pirates Story by Raven Belasco. Maybe I will give that one a try, a vampire pirate does sound fun!

Books I Finished:

Beneath the Indigo Sky by Rayne Hawthorne & D. W. MichaelsOf Feathers and Thorns by Kit VincentTadek and the Princess by Alexandra Rowland

If you’re considering buying any of these books from Amazon, I’d really appreciate if you’d use my affiliate link!

My reading has still been slow, but at least I managed three books this time 😅

Beneath the Indigo Sky by Rayne Hawthorne & D. W. Michaels – This was a sweet, tender m/m romance with just a hint of supernatural (empath). Pacing was a bit off toward the end, warning for characters facing homophobia, but overall sweet.

Of Feathers and Thorns by Kit Vincent – Fantasy with magic in a sort of alternate history world. I wanted a little more from the characters, but there were some interesting ideas and magic.

Tadek and the Princess by Alexandra Rowland – This is a series extra that I finally got around to, about a wonderful character. I don’t think I paid attention to the description, so I expected romance, but this was not romance at all. Instead it was an emotional, touching story about another kind of relationship.
