Another month without much non-bookish stuff to talk about. Still playing Baldur’s Gate 3, believe it or not, when I feel up to it and need a break from doom and gloom. I also played Blood Bar Tycoon, which I actually reviewed! First proper game review in a while. Here, have some pictures.
(TW for spiders in the hidden picture. BG3 photomode is both a blessing and a curse, it’s such a time waster lol. But these spiders saved me in one fight that I took on too early, so they got to have a photoshoot. Real spiders scare me, but the ones in this game are kinda cute.)

Other than that, still worried about health problems, upset about the lack of help and the difficulties of living in this house, and feeling rundown.
I also stubbed my pinky toe and it got swollen and turned a color that no human toe should be and caused bruising/swelling further down my foot as well. I don’t know if there was actually a fracture or if it was just really badly bruised, it’s not completely better, but I can at least put weight on that foot more now as long as I don’t put much onto the toe itself. I already have a bad foot, my other foot, so not being able to properly put weight on either of them was miserable, and there’s no space for mobility aids here. Fingers crossed it’ll fully heal soon.
Anyway, that’s about it *shrug*
Blog/Bookish Updates:
Nothing this month. Other than to say, I know I haven’t posted much lately because of life stuff, but I’m still here! Maybe in July I’ll finally get to that rec post I promised about books with nonbinary characters.
Books I Received for Review:
I have not checked normal ARC sites for a long time, but I do check the Libro.fm ALC program offerings, because I like audiobooks, and that’s where I got these!
The Lure of Their Graves by Laura R. Samotin – I listened to the first book in this queer darkish fantasy series when it came out, and I’m curious to see where the story will go.
Cursebreakers by Madeleine Nakamura – Queer characters, magic, mental illness rep, and dark academia. I’ve been interested in this one since it came out, so I’m excited to get a copy of the audiobook!
It’s Not the End of the World by Jonathan Parks-Ramage – A queer climate thriller set in 2044 with some sort of apocalyptic event, it just caught my attention.
Devils Like Us by L.T. Thompson – Queer YA historical fantasy about a magical society and a ship adventure? Idk, it sounds good though.
That Devil, Ambition by Linsey Miller – This one sounds an interesting YA dark academia / dark fantasy about teens who have to kill their professor, a devil, by the end of the school year, or I think they’re killed instead.

And I got Soulmatch by Rebecca Danzenbaker from Simon & Schuster! A YA dystopian with romance and high stakes, I feel like it’s been a while since I’ve read one of those. Sounds interesting, and what a gorgeous cover! Very much my aesthetic, never has a book looked so perfect next to these flowers that I use for all my book pictures 😄 Also the black is so matte, and the face and flowers are so glossy. So pretty.
Books I Finished:
If you’re considering buying any of these books from Amazon, I’d really appreciate if you’d use my affiliate link!
Ok, so, I actually went an entire month without reading anything 😬 As I said, I’ve been worried, and it made it hard to focus. But it’s the 6th of July, and I’ve managed to finish a book, so I’m just gonna put it here, and we can pretend it was in June.
Reclaimed by Seth Haddon – M/M fantasy with a trans MC! The book was slow, but the romance was worth it.

Ohno, I broke my pinkie toe… my cousin pulled me in a door frame and she was literally on the side of my foot 🫠 the only thing the DR did was taping it to the rest .. hopefully yours feel better soon! I rememver it hurting quite a lot it woke me up at night
Ouch, sorry that happened to you 😬 Yeah, that’s why it wasn’t worth exhausting myself and risking covid when all a doctor would do is tape it. Thanks <3
Definately! Hope your toe is feeling better
Thanks <3 It's not fully better, but definitely better than it was before!
Ouch! Hope you’re feeling better as soon as possible! <3
Thanks <3
My husband stubbed his pinky toe and we thought it was broken but I guess not? It took a while to heal though.
I’ve been reading sporadically and not blogging at all (although I finally posted a challenge update).
Yeah it’s still not better, but I’m also still not sure it’s broken. I’m thinking maybe bone bruise. Glad you’re doing some reading at least, even if not much blogging!
