Top Ten Tuesday: Top Ten Authors I’ve Read the Most Books From

So apparently I had a lot more author favoritism when I was younger.

It's not that there aren't any authors I love now, it's just that nowadays a lot of the authors I read write shorter series or don't have a lot of books out. And those who do, well, their other series don't seem to interest me.

(Or they're still working on a series and I'm secretly cursing them in my head for making me wait.)

Anyway, that's why I've included five authors I currently read (10-6) and five from my middle/high school days (5-1).

And now... on with the list!

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted at The Broke and the Bookish. They like lists, I like lists, it’s a perfect match! This week’s topic is:

Top Ten Authors I’ve Read the Most Books From

The Ghost and the Graveyard by Genevieve Jack | books, reading, book covers
The Bane by Keary Taylor | books, reading, book covers
The Faerie Guardian by Rachel Morgan | books, reading, book covers
Fine Lines by Bella Roccaforte | books, reading, book covers
Steal the Light by Lexi Blake | books, reading, book covers

10. Genevieve Jack – 4 Books

Author of the Knight Games series (a series with a female protagonist I loved, a rare find for me).

9. Keary Taylor – 4 Books

Author of The Eden Trilogy as well as a few other YA series.

8. Rachel Morgan – 4 Books

Author of the Creepy Hollow series (an incomplete series I plan on continuing, so this number will go up) as well as some other YA series.

7. Bella Roccaforte – 5 Books

Author of the Ink series (one of my top favorites). And even though I don’t care for werewolves, i also plan on reading her Moon Crossed series because I love the intensity of her writing and the brokenness of her characters (so this number will also go up).

6. Lexi Blake – 6 Books

Author of the Thieves series (another number that will go up since the spin-off series isn’t finished) as well as a few other adult series.

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone by J.K. Rowling | books, reading, book covers
Uglies by Scott Westerfeld | books, reading, book covers
The Merchant of Death by D.J. MacHale | books, reading, book covers
A Girl's Guide to Vampires by Katie MacAlister | books, reading, book covers
Interview With the Vampire by Anne Rice | books, reading, book covers

5. JK Rowling – 7 Books

Author of the Harry Potter series (pretty sure you knew that, but, you know, just in case). I couldn’t not include her, especially since I reading her books in 3rd grade when they came out and then reread them as a twenty-something.

4. Scott Westerfeld – 9(ish) Books

Author of the Uglies series, the Midnighters series, Peeps, and some other YA books. I still remember enjoying those books in high school and getting all sorts of comments from people who were intrigued by the titles of the Uglies books.

3. DJ MacHale – 10 Books

Author of the Pendragon series. I started reading Pendragon in 6th grade, so it was similar to Harry Potter to me in the way I grew up with this series, right alongside the characters. Even the series itself seemed to mature with me as I got older.

2. Katie Maxwell/Katie MacAlister – 10(ish) Books

Author of numerous YA and adult chick lit and romance novels. My tastes have changed so I haven’t read her in years even though she does write adult books, but she was my favorite author as a young teen. That, combined with my love for vampires, makes it fitting that the first legit romance books I read were two from her Dark Ones series that I convinced my grandma to buy me and then snuck past my mother where I hid spine-facing-backward on my bookshelf.

1. Anne Rice – 12 Books

Author of The Vampire Chronicles and many other paranormal series. No author list of mine would be complete without her. I was scouring used book stores and being branded “that weird chick always reading about vampires” since I was 14 all for the sake of Anne Rice. It’s been a long time since I’ve read the books, but she’s the one responsible for my love of vampire lit, and I wouldn’t have it any other way!
