Update: Life and Books (Mar 2026)

I know it’s Easter, but I’m not doing anything to celebrate, so here I am with a blog post! (Well, blog posts are written before they’re posted anyway, it’s not like I’m typing this as you’re reading it, but. You get it.)

My big news this month is that I watched Heated Rivalry Season 1! I subscribed to HBO Max for a month with the plan to watch Heated Rivalry one time and Our Flag Means Death one time. Instead I have so far just watched Heated Rivalry five times 😅 I starting raving about it, but then I realized it was like a thousand words, so I’ve decided to do a whole separate post for all my thoughts, maybe including some other shows too. For now I’ll just say, the story, the acting, the camera work, the music, everything is incredible. Never before in my life have I immediately rewatched a whole season of a show like this (tbf, it’s not that long, but still), and never before have I revisited something this many times and been just as absorbed every time. I’ve also been watching interviews and whatnot with the cast because they’re so fun.

Also, I can’t stop watching this fan edit, it’s so cool with all the parallel shots they found, and maybe it will entice someone else to watch the show 😄 Make sure you turn on the volume though. It’s hidden because I couldn’t stop the autoplay. It’s slightly NSFW. (The video below. The show itself is very NSFW lol.) Also warning for some flashing.

I didn’t do much else. Honestly, more and more of my time is being taken up by just doing all the things I have to to survive as my body gets more and more rundown. More problems, less energy, and the less energy I have, the slower I move, so everything takes longer too. And then, in my free time, I’m often just too tired to do anything that requires much thinking or focus. Even playing games can be too much. It would make a huge difference if I could move out of here (and to somewhere decent that actually meets my needs), but everything is so expensive here, and I just can’t figure out how to make that work.

I did still play some Palia and BG3 though, just not too much. One day I will post reviews for these two games! Probably! So stay tuned, I guess. That’s all I’ve got today.

Blog/Bookish Updates:

Nothing this week. Though I may have some more website downtime at some point soon because I need to try and figure out an issue.

Books I Received for Review:

I don’t think I got any this month.

Books I Finished:

If you’re considering buying any of these books from Amazon, I’d really appreciate if you’d use my affiliate link!

The Last Best Quest Ever by FT LukensThere's a Monster in the Woods by Fae Quin

(I just noticed these covers match in color so nicely.)

The Last Best Quest Ever by FT Lukens – A fun fantasy with adventure and magical creatures and found family.

There’s a Monster in the Woods by Fae Quin – A fairly short paranormal romance with, well, a monster in the woods. I can see other people enjoying it, just wasn’t really for me.

I heard so many good things about Heated Rivalry, but haven’t watched it myself. Glad you found a show that you enjoyed so much that you rewatched it so many times already. Sorry to hear you’ve been doing so poorly. I hate that experience of being tired and everything going slower, which always makes me feel like I have even less time to actually recover. I wish you could move to a better place as it sounds like that would be a big help.
