This was my worst reading and blogging month in a long time. I only read three books and made two posts. I didn’t even do a discussion post, even though I’d wanted to do at least one of those each month. I’ve just been trying to figure out how to fix some of the problems in my life, trying to get help I need, etc., but I still have nothing to show for it except more exhaustion and probably liver damage from how much acetaminophen I’ve taken for headaches over the past few months alone.
But I managed to get a Mermay drawing done! I rarely do art anymore because of how much it takes out of me physically, but you all know how I love drawing mermen. I didn’t want to miss a year. So here are my jellyfish mermen, based on the pacific sea nettle. No fun fish facts this time, sorry.

And with my gaming time, I’ve still been playing the same few games. Baldur’s Gate 3, Monster Con, Cats and Soup. I also played a little bit of Project Zomboid, but only my one save that’s basically just a farming sim at this point because the town is almost entirely cleared of zombies and Collin just spends his days tending some crops, fishing, foraging, cooking, and watching the occasional movie. But good news! After like nine months in the apocalypse, it’s finally spring, his foraging level is high enough, and he finally found wild eggs and was able to make a cake! He also has a pet frog now! He cannot do anything with the frog, it’s meant for eating, but technically it is alive still, and it lives in his backyard near a pond he made.

Blog/Bookish Updates:
Nothing this month.
Books I Received for Review:
I don’t think I got any new books for review since my last post.
Books I Finished:
If you’re considering buying any of these books from Amazon, I’d really appreciate if you’d use my affiliate link!
When the Tides Held the Moon by Venessa Vida Kelley – Historical m/m romance about a merman in a side show. This wasn’t bad, but I didn’t find the characters that interesting, and there wasn’t enough plot to make up for it until near the end. Not quite for me.
The Sun Blessed Prince by Lindsey Byrd – High fantasy with magic abilities to heal and kill, and a hint of m/m romance. First in a duology. This was great! Somewhat slow, but the characters and wonderful writing made up for that. I already reviewed this one.
The Hymn to Dionysus by Natasha Pulley – More historical queer fantasy with a bit of mythology. I have such a weird relationship with Natasha Pulley books. It seems like each one is either one of the best books I’ve ever read, or good but in a forgettable sort of way. This one sort of started as the former but ended as the latter. Still enjoyable. I might do a full review.

I’ve been struggling with posting and I’m going to take a summer-long hiatus, so don’t feel bad for your lack of activity. We all know it’s harder for you, so if even we fail at it…🤷♀️ I hope you manage to find some help eventually, but it sucks that you have to go through the pain of looking for it…
“He cannot do anything with the frog, it’s meant for eating, but technically it is alive still, and it lives in his backyard near a pond he made.”
Yay, Collin news! Poor frog…no one thought he could count as a pet LOL.
And oops, I forgot to comment on your art! I love it!
Thanks! <3
Thanks <3 Hopefully your break will help with the stuff you're dealing with.
Right? They underestimated people's desire for pets lol. I think it's the only technically alive animal you can get in the version I'm playing (unless you use mods), so it's all Collin has.
I’m worried about my liver for the same reason. I don’t know what to do about it because it’s impossible to get stuff done when I have a headache. I guess I have to choose between my head and my liver. I hope you have a good June!
Exactly, it’s not like we have much choice when we’re in pain, and I’m allergic to ibuprofen. (Are you also allergic? I feel like I remember another blogger having that in common with me lol.)
Love the art Kit! 🙂
Thank you! <3
Your jellyfish mermen are absolutely STUNNING, for the record!
Thank you!! 🥰
