Review:
I adored A Taste of Gold and Iron, and I adored Tadek in that book, so I was happy to discover he got his own little series extra. Either I didn’t read or didn’t understand the description because it had been a while since I read the Gold and Iron, because I expected romance. Instead I got an emotional, beautiful story about a completely different kind of relationship.
This was a fairly short book and very much an extra that goes with the first book. It doesn’t really have a plot, it’s more about Tadek’s past and his feelings. About how his life was changed by someone. To a lesser extent, about his relationship now with Kadou and Evemer (also not romance, but you probably know that if you’ve already read Gold and Iron). The feelings and the past are heavy, but the sweetness of the present balances that.
So I don’t really have much to say. It was nice getting to understand Tadek more. It was fun seeing a bit of Kadou and Evemer. It made me feel, and the interactions between Tadek and Evemer made me laugh. Overall, it was a lovely book about lovely characters!
