Quick Reviews: Satan Claus is Coming to Town // Deck the Demon // Have a Hellish, Lousy Christmas // Wishing on a Dream // Building on a Hope

Since it’s December, it’s time to post some holiday book reviews! I read some of these last December, some of these this December, and I enjoyed them all. The first three are all in one series that features different main characters in each book, and the last two are in a different series, though none are marked as a series on Goodreads or Amazon. (Well, one is also part of a collection sort of thing in which different authors wrote Christmas-themed books, but those are completely unrelated to one another.) I suppose these could be considered standalones, but I still recommend reading them in order since they feature connected characters. Anyway, all of these are sweet mlm romances, and they all have a supernatural element or magic. Perfect for the holidays 🙂

*Quick Reviews are posts where I share summaries and links for reviews I’ve recently posted to Goodreads and Amazon but don’t plan to make full review posts for here on the blog. Tag links are at the end.*

Satan Claus is Coming to Town by Catherine Lievens

Satan Claus is Coming to Town by Catherine Lievens

In Satan Claus is Coming to Town, Satan receives a letter mistakenly addressed to him and decides to fulfill a little girl’s Christmas wish to make her dad smile.

As soon as I saw the premise—a child accidentally sending their letter to Satan instead of Santa—I of course wanted to read this, and it was a cute, light story!

Recommended For:
Anyone who likes sweet m/m Christmas romance and angels, or in this case a kind-hearted Satan.

Deck the Demon by Catherine Lievens

In Deck the Demon, archangel Gabriel is crushing on Satan’s assistant, Jasper, and the two end up fake dating until it becomes something more.

This one was also cute, and it had a bit more angst and build-up of the feelings and felt a bit more believable to me.

Have a Hellish, Lousy Christmas by Catherine Lievens

In Have a Hellish, Lousy Christmas, the archangel Michael is forced to live as a (talking) cat until he changes for the better, and the human Presley ends up saddled with the task of helping him.

It was kinda fun having one character be a talking cat for most of the book, I liked getting to see a jerky character grow as a person, and this was another sweet Christmas romance.

Recommended For:
Anyone who likes sweet m/m Christmas romance and angels, plus jerky characters finding their good side.

Wishing on a Dream by Michele Notaro

Wishing on a Dream by Michele Notaro

In Wishing on a Dream, a man if gifted a snow globe and starts having dreams about the little man inside it, who says he’s a warlock trapped in there by a curse.

This was a sweet romance with kind characters, a touch of Christmas cheer, and magic. I also loved the maybe gray ace rep.

Building on a Hope by Michele Notaro

In Building on a Hope, two soul-pledged warlocks whose attempts at romance ended badly realize the missing link in their relationship just might be a human they’re both falling in love with.

This was a sweet and slightly angsty m/m/m romance between three lovely people. More trauma and danger than you might expect, but it was balanced with healing and hope.

*Rating: 3.5 Stars // Read Date: 2021 // Format: Ebook via TTS*

Recommended For:
Anyone who likes m/m/m romance, trauma and heaviness that’s balanced with healing and lots of sweetness, and magic.
