Review:
All throughout this story, my inner monologue just kept saying, “Awww ☹️” and, “Oh no.” But by the end it turned into, “Awww ☺️” There was a bit of danger and struggle, but with a hopeful, happy ending.
Post-apoc Christmas, I love that idea! No zombies, the plague has ended, now it’s just an empty world with very few survivors. There was also a touch of paranormal.
The OCD seemed well-researched. It wasn’t just a little quirk.
Characters in their 40s! I love to see characters past their 20s and 30s finding romance and happiness.
There was one part where I felt like Zeke was being a bit weird and dramatic, but then I remembered he’d been completely alone for a year, I think it was, and I can believe pretty much any erratic behavior or awkward social interaction at that point.
Overall, a quick read, but a good story, good writing, and characters I cared about. I really enjoyed this!
