Cover Love: Best Book Covers from Books I Read in 2024

Cover Love: Best Book Covers from Books I Read in 2024

It's that time again for book covers! I think I have fewer than usual this year, believe it it not, since I read fewer books. Still have plenty though! I've said before and will say again that a book doesn't need an expensive, perfect cover. I would rather something basic or a stock photo than an AI cover. Update: Life and Books (Nov 2024)

I forgot last weekend that I was supposed to do an update post, but it worked out alright, I got my Christmas recs post out early in the month. But then I also forgot all week to make this post, so I'm making it after midnight when it's already supposed to be...

I've just heard it mentioned a lot and wanted to understand...

I was watching Lisa Frankenstein recently, and also thinking about how I needed to make some blog posts, and it reminded me that I've always meant to do a post like this. I was just waiting to have enough books I could personally recommend. Frankenstein is one of my favorite classics, less so for the writing itself (sorry, Mary, I find a lot of classics are just overly wordy), but because the...

Bookish Musings: Unhappy Endings

Bookish Musings: Unhappy Endings

Most people enjoy a happy ending, but unhappy endings tend to be pretty controversial. I do like a good happy ending, but I also like a good unhappy one. Not every time. But sometimes. So I wanted to talk about why I like them, and also what I think makes for a good unhappy or bittersweet ending. (Don't worry, I've avoided mentioning any specific books, so there are no spoilers! Though I am...
