As a fantasy lover who leans more to the paranormal/urban fantasy side of the genre, and who usually sticks to smaller or romance-focused stories when reading high fantasy, I don't tend to read a lot about your average scary, large, fire-breathing kind of dragon. I have, however, read some books about dragon shifters, humanoid dragons, half-dragon beings, and dragons who are otherwise somewhat...
I can't believe I have to think of yet another intro. I don't do anything, this is too hard! Quick reminder, if you're doing any holiday shopping online, I have affiliate/referral links, and it helps me make a small bit of money or get my own free trials/books/etc. if you use them, at no additional cost to you! As for what I actually did this month... I started and finished playing Milky...
Another month, another monthly post in which I have to figure out what to talk about. I played some of the games I bought in the Steam sale last month! The Starfighter: Eclipse game, the one I'd wanted for a long time, was unfortunately a disappointment. Monster Hunting... for Love was fun though. I also played a bunch of very quick, free games by npckc on itch.io. They were cute, and my...
I don't think the first line of a book has to be the absolute best. Truthfully, how many people are reading ONLY the first line and then giving up on a book? I do think a great first line can hook a reader who might've been on the fence though. And regardless, I just thought it'd be a fun idea to look at the opening lines of some different books... and have a fight to the death! Just kidding...
This week's topic is hearts! And if you thought I was really crazy enough to base my post on actual, realistic-looking hearts rather than the cutesy heart shape... you would be correct ;-) Ten points to your Hogwarts House. And also ten points to Ravenclaw because this is my blog and I say so. Anyway, I did use some with cutesy heart shapes, but I also used some with realistic-type hearts...
I think we can all agree that inclusivity and diversity in books is great. And what better way to support diversity in gender and sexuality in books than by supporting the LGBT+ authors who write them? So here are some amazing books that I've really enjoyed and definitely recommend if they sound like your kinda...
So it turns out these posts are a lot of fun. When I posted the first one of these strangest reviews posts, I was worried you all wouldn't enjoy it, but you did! And I enjoyed it too! So here are five more strange book reviews from yours truly...
Sam has done what was asked of him and spent nearly a year learning magic from the Great White, and now it's time for him to return and do his best to defeat Myrin. But a lot has changed during his absence, and he and his friends will have to come together and rely on each other if they're going to...
I still haven't been feeling great. I still have eye strain. I still don't know what, if anything in particular, is causing the recent issues. I'm stressed about a lot of health-related stuff right now. I don't want to get into that. Sorry if I'm a little behind on responding to comments and visiting your blogs. In better news, I went through all the shoes in my old closet---all the boxes way at...
I like to think of this post as proof that a) you really don't need to write "professional" reviews to have a book blog, and b) positive reviews can in fact be fun! I also like finding ways to continue talking about great books that I totally recommend and think people should read, since oftentimes books just get forgotten after the review is posted, and this seemed like a good way to do...
