It’s the end of another year, and that means it’s time to do all my bookish end of the year posts! Yay!
I don’t do a lot of posts about book covers anymore, but I do so love a pretty cover. Good artwork and/or good, cohesive design *chef’s kiss*
So anyway, here are all my favorite covers from the books I read in 2020!
*I did my best to find cover artists, but I just couldn’t find the info for some of the books. If you happen to know any of the ones I’m missing, let me know so I can give them credit!*
The Merman and the Barbarian Pirate by Kay Berrisford – Cover by Julie Wright
This one is clearly right up my alley. It’s such pretty and cute art! Also I just love merman art lol.
The Henchmen of Zenda by KJ Charles – Cover by Simoné & LC Chase
I just love this! Including the old-looking style. And I love the perfect smirk on the one character’s face. I love when covers perfectly match their books and the characters in them.
Dead Acre by Rhett C. Bruno & Jaime Castle
This one is cool-looking and definitely captures the weird west vibe!
The Paper Magician Series by Charlie N. Holmberg – Covers by Will Staehle
I’ve always loved these! They’ve got such a cute style, and I love black and white covers with a splash of color. I also like how they incorporate little details from the stories.
Wicked Fox by Kat Cho – Cover by Dana Li & Miranda Meeks
This one is just so pretty!
Cemetery Boys by Aiden Thomas – Cover by Mars Lauderbaugh
This one is also just so pretty!
The Prince and the Troll by Rainbow Rowell – Cover by Micaela Alcaino
This is such a cute design!
Daughter from the Dark by Marina & Sergey Dyachenko
This isn’t my usual kind of cover, as you can probably tell from this post, but it’s got this interesting ethereal feel and is pretty to look at.
Ever After by Riley Hart & Christina Lee – Cover by Jay Aheer
Another one that is just so pretty!
Shatter Me Series by Tahereh Mafi
I’m pretty sure I included these in a post when I first read the the first three, but I had to include them again because look at them! They’re all gorgeous.
Spare and Found Parts by Sarah Maria Griffin
This one is just so pleasant to look at and has such a cute style and design!
The Pisces by Melissa Broder – Cover by Rachel Willey & Tim O’Brien
I don’t really know why, but I just love this cover. It really catches my attention. I like the style of the art and how much it pops! And also kind of how weird it is.
The Mercenaries of the Stolen Moon by Megan Derr – Cover by John Coulthart
This series always has nice covers! I love how strong the colors are.
The Letter that Doomed Nosferatu by Steve Berman
I just love the look of this one! It’s really well-designed. Everything works together really well.
Krampus Hates Christmas by Andi Van – Cover by AngstyG
It’s just so pretty! Another one that’s really designed really well with everything working so well together.
Gideon the Ninth / Harrow the Ninth by Tamsyn Muir – Covers by Tommy Arnold
If I have to pick a favorite from this year, these are in my top picks. This artwork is just so badass and awesome and gorgeous!
The Merman Series by X. Aratare
And these are my other top picks! Absolutely beautiful artwork, absolutely beautiful men, and I’m also a sucker for merfolk 😛

Top Ten Characters from Books I Read in 2020
Top Ten Books/Series I Read in 2020 + Some Non-Bookish Things
Awesome picks. I miss Cover Characteristics! Whatever happened to them? I guess they musta went on hiatus and never came back or whatever. Anyway I love the covers for The Merman and the Pirate, and the Shatter Me covers have always ben favorites of mine. Mercenaries has that otherwordly quality to it, like someone looking out on a new world…
And yes merfolk make the best covers. :):)
I think they stopped blogging. Yeah, those Shatter Me covers are just great. But merfolk really are the best, haha.
THE MERMAN SERIES BY X. ARATARE are so gorgeous ^^
I know, right?! So pretty!
I always loved that cover for Cemetery Boys. This is such a great selection of covers!
It’s so pretty! Thanks!
I love Charlie Holmberg’s covers! They are always so pretty, and you can tell it’s her book right away.
They’re very distinct and eye catching!
