For this batch of quick reviews, I have a bunch of books in Maz Maddox’s Stallion Ridge series! It’s a series of connected m/m romance stories, so I recommend reading them in order, though each focuses on a different main couple, set in a fantasy Wild West world filled with different paranormal creatures. All these books are quick, sweet reads that have uncomplicated plots and focus mostly on romance and sex. They sometimes have a touch of heaviness but are still overall light and fun. It was hard for me to fully believe all the romances since most happened very quickly (I felt more chemistry in some than others), but I still enjoyed them. I also loved all the uncommon supernaturals!

Heartache & Hoofbeats (Stallion Ridge Book 1) by Maz Maddox
In Heartache & Hoofbeats, a captured outlaw and a centaur sheriff in the Old West start falling for each other as they get to know each other better.
This was fun, sweet, steamy, and a touch angsty with an Old West setting, easily likeable characters, and a cute romance with great chemistry that I really enjoyed!

Claw Marks & Card Games (Stallion Ridge Book 2) by Maz Maddox
In Claw Marks & Card Games, a man in gambling debt has his life turned around by a sexy, domineering deputy with some secrets.
Normally I’m not into the “I own you” sort of romance dynamic, but the way this was written, not taken to any extreme and then kind of fading away, I didn’t really mind. Another fun, sexy, sweet, slightly angsty Weird West romance!

Suspects & Scales (Stallion Ridge Book 3) by Maz Maddox
In Suspects & Scales, a deputy and a merman assassin fall for each other as they work together to solve a murder.
This wasn’t my favorite so far, but it was still an enjoyable Weird West story in the town of Stallion Ridge with a sweet (if rushed, since they knew each other about a day) romance, likeable characters, and an interesting mystery.

Rocks & Railways (Stallion Ridge Book 4) by Maz Maddox
In Rocks & Railways, a deputy falls in love with a rock deity who awakens when a hole is blasted into his plateau to make a tunnel for a railroad.
This book changed things up a bit by having one of the characters be a kind of rock deity with just one form rather than a shifter, and there was more focus on friendships in this one. Another enjoyable sweet, steamy story with likeable characters in this supernatural-filled Old West town!
